Book of Shadows

The Book of Shadows (BOS) is used to store information that you'll need in your magical tradition.  It can contain spells, rituals, prayers, potions or anything that the practitioner feels like recording.  Many Pagans and Wiccan's believe a Book of Shadows should be handwritten, but some use a computer to store information as we at Haunted Confession do.  A Book of Shadows is considered a sacred tool, which means it is an item of power that should be consecrated with all of your other magical tools.

The witch's who do believe that you should copy spells and rituals into your BOS by hand feel that by this will not only transfer energy to an from the writer, but it also helps you to memorize the contents.  Your Book of Shadows can be a simple journal, a more complex binder with different sections, or an elaborately bound time that can be handed down through the generations.  If you do use the hand written method be sure to legibly enough that you’ll be able to read your notes during a ritual!

Haunted Confession's Book of Shadows contains entries written by many people.  Registered user's may contribute to our Book of Shadows and make any of their entries either public for all to see or private just for themselves.

Our Book of Shadows is divided into the following sections.

  • General Entries which are anything that is not related the either Rituals, Spells or Prayers
  • Spells is where you can find spell entries
  • Rituals which is where you can find entries on pagan rituals
  • Prayers which is where you can finds prayers to various gods and goddesses
